The birth of PWBs
Prior to the invention of PWBs,
electronic products were large
due to inefficient wiring.
In the electronics products of those days,
vacuum tubes were used in place of
semiconductors, and vacuum tube sockets
and other parts had to be soldered by hand.
For that reason, component attachment was
time-consuming, and there were many wiring mistakes,
leading to short product life.
To solve these problems,
PWBs with circuits formed directly
on them were invented.
With the invention of PWBs,
electronics product manufacturing became efficient,
quality became stable, and mass production became possible.
